What is the Internet and how does it differ from the world wide web?

The terms “Internet” and the “World Wide Web” (or just “Web”) are often used interchangeably. However, while they are related, they are actually two completely separate things.

The Internet is a network of networks that links together computers across the world . As long as any two computers are connected to the Internet, they can communicate with each other using a variety of computer languages known as protocols . The Internet does not contain information but is the transport vehicle for information stored in documents or files on computers . It’s therefore incorrect to say that something is found on the Internet; information is found using the Internet, by finding it on a computer that is connected to the Internet.

The Web, invented by Tim Berners-Lee in 1989, is an information-sharing model that is built on top of the Internet. It is a service contained within the Internet and is one of the protocols by which information is thereby provided. When you log on to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, for instance, you’re viewing documents on the Web.

The Web is one of many Internet applications, and probably the one with which most people are familiar. Another common application used for communication on the Internet is e-mail. As the Web increased in size, search engines developed to track pages on it and to assist in finding information, the first suchbeing Lycos, which appeared on the scene in 1993. Google is now the largest search engine, tracking over eight billion pages.

I love OM and i check it everyday to read my favorite mangas and also check out new ones but as of today i got the bad news from Zabi. Here is the letter from Zabi of onemanga.com

"There is an end to everything, to good things as well."

It pains me to announce that this is the last week of manga reading on One Manga (!!). Manga publishers have recently changed their stance on manga scanlations and made it clear that they no longer approve of it. We have decided to abide by their wishes, and remove all manga content (regardless of licensing status) from the site. The removal of content will happen gradually (so you can at least finish some of the outstanding reading you have), but we expect all content to be gone by early next week (RIP OM July 2010).

So what next? We're not really sure at this point, but we have some ideas we would like to try out. Until then, the One Manga forums will remain active and we encourage all of you to continue using them. OMF has developed into a great community and it would be a shame to see that disappear.

You can also show us some love in this moment of sadness by 'liking' our brand new Facebook page. It would be nice to see just how many of you came to enjoy our 'better than peanut butter and jelly' invention.

Regardless of whether you stay with us or not, on behalf of the One Manga team, I would like to thank you all for your unwavering support over the years. Through the ups and downs you have stuck with us, and that is what kept us going.

3. Title and Content – This is essence of the ad. Craigslist has software to automatically cross match the contents to make sure they all unique! If they find out something wrong with it, either it will generate a Posted Already error code or be ghosted!
4. Common Sense – There are some small factors which Craigslist will look at to make sure these ads are unique and worthwhile to show on main section. This will include Location, Image, and Keywords in Content, Compensation and many more. What common sense will apply here? For example, the difference between a local small business owner and a national marketer or spammer to post is different. The local small business owners will very likely fill up the LOCATION filed to attract local people to his business and leave a local phone number in there but the national marketer will not write anything in the LOCATION filed and it will leave a website link there! Craigslist uses human psychology to identify whether this post is from a local business owner or a spammer!

How to make your ads unghosted?
The answer is very simple! Make the post as Unique as possible!

Sometimes the things you should change are not the IP, Email or Content but the way you are thinking!! Marketer has his own characteristics and its way to thinking! If craigslist can use this psychological approach to catch posters’ thoughts then program these to their software, your ads will be blocked for ever! And you can’t solve it by yourself! You should look for professional to help – a third party view point.
