God's Wings
After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park , forest rangers
began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage.
One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched
statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree. Somewhat
sickened by the eerie sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick.
When he gently struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under
their dead mother's wings. The loving mother, keenly aware of
impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the
tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing
that the toxic smoke would rise.
She could have flown to safety but had refused to abandon her
babies. Then the blaze had arrived and the heat had scorched her
small body, the mother had remained steadfast ...because she had
been willing to die, so those under the cover of her wings would live.
'He will cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you will find refuge.'
(Psalm 91:4)
Being loved this much should make a difference in your life.
Remember the One who loves you, and then be different because of it.
My instructions were to send this to people that I wanted God to
bless and I picked you. Please pass this on to people you want to
be blessed.
Time waits for no one... Treasure every moment you have. You will
treasure it even more when you can share it with someone special.
To realize the value of a friend...lose one.

Top 10 Ways To Increase Your Alexa Ranking!
1. Sign up for an Alexa traffic exchange program such as http://www.upmyrank.com , the large numbers of users can boost your alexa ranking dramatically.
2. Be sure to install the Alexa toolbar for Internet Explorer and Firefox. Additionally be sure to set your website as the default homepage for both browsers. Be sure to use each browser when you are online as each will have a different toolbar id and may be seen as 2 different users.
3. Put up the Alexa rank widget on your website. While the exact effects are unknown, it seems to help give the site a slight boost.
4. Encourage others to use the Alexa toolbar. This includes friends, fellow webmasters as well as site visitors. Be sure to link to Alexa’s full explanation of their toolbar and tracking system so your readers know what installing the toolbar or extension entails. Additionally you may want to ask your close relatives to install the toolbar and set your homepage as their main site.
5. Have co-workers or own a company? Get the Alexa toolbar and SS Firefox extension installed on all computers and set your website as the homepage for all browsers. Perhaps it will be useful to note that this may work only when dynamic or different IPs are used.
6. Write or host content about Alexa. Webmaster and bloggers love to hear about ways to increase their Alexa rank. They’ll link to you and send you targeted traffic (i.e. visitors with the toolbar already installed). This gradually has effects on your Alexa ranking.
7. Flaunt your URL in webmaster forums. Webmasters usually have the toolbar installed. You’ll get webmasters to visit your website and offer useful feedback. It’s also a good way to give back to the community if you have useful articles to share with others. Be careful not to spam boards as you could be banned from the forum or worse ahve your site terminated by your host.
8. Write content that is related to webmasters. This can fall in the category of domaining and SEO, two fields in which most webmasters will have the Alexa toolbar installed. Promote your content on social networking websites and webmaster forums. Feel free to place the article on your website!
9. Use Alexa redirects on your website URL. Try this: http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.upmyrank.com . Replace upmyrank.com with the URL for your website. Leave this redirected URL in blog comments as well as forum signatures. This redirect will count a unique IP address once a day so clicking it multiple times won’t help. There is no official proof that redirects positively benefit your Alexa Rank, so use with caution.
10. Create a webmaster tools section on your website. This is a magnet for webmasters who will often revisit your website to gain access to the tools. Aaron Wall’s webpage on SEOTools is a very good example.

Google Wave
Google Wave is an online tool for real-time communication and collaboration. A wave can be both a conversation
and a document where people can discuss and work together using richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.
What is a wave?
A wave is equal parts conversation and document. People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.
A wave is shared. Any participant can reply anywhere in the message, edit the content and add participants at any point in the process. Then playback lets anyone rewind the wave to see who said what and when.
A wave is live. With live transmission as you type, participants on a wave can have faster conversations, see edits and interact with extensions in real-time.
When to use Google Wave >>
* Group projects
* Photo sharing
* Meeting notes
* Brainstorming
* Interactive games

Tips on writing content for your blog by E-PR
1. Use catchy titles: As I subscribe to more and more webfeeds, I tend to flicks through content a lot faster. Short, catchy, tabloid-style titles grab potential readers attention and will ensure that your posts have a better chance of being read.
2. Be unique: One of my favourite blogs is Gaping Void. Hugh MacLeod’s cartoons are great and instantly grab my attention. Try to make some aspect of your blog unique. for example, I now open each post with a quote which tends to reflect the entry.
3. Make sure to credit your sources: Don’t plagerise! Never use someone else’s content without crediting them. You can refer to them in your entry and offer your own opinion on the story rather than be a copycat.
4. Think before you post: Blogging isn’t a race, so take your time . The majority of my posts (including this one!) are prepared at the weekend, giving me plenty of time to think over them before posting. You don’t want to post something that you’ll end up regretting.
5. Stay on topic: Your blog’s content is key. Like Ed says ‘good, interesting blogs get read, boring rants on irrelevant topics don’t’ So if your blog is about Soccer, I don’t expect to be reading about Tennis on it often.
6. Link, it’s polite: If you read something interesting online and tell your readers about it, then post a link to what you’re talking about. It’s annoying to read about something and then have to Google it, instead of simply clicking a link to it.
7. Be conversational in tone: Nobody wants to be bored to death reading your blog and you should also try to attract readers who might not be familiar with the subject you are covering. Some really intelligent people have turned me off with their academic style of writing. You’re supposed to be having a conversation not talking down to people.
8. Respond to comments: It’s great to see that you’re blogging, but if you don’t respond to comments on your blog readers will tend to get annoyed and may unsubscribe. Sometimes it’s even nice to send the person who left the comment an email, IM them or havea real life conversation with them via Skype. When I left a comment on Steve Rubel’s blog congratulating him on his marraige I was surprised to get an email from him saying thanks. What a nice touch! Unfortunately he doesn’t seem to be so quick to reply to comments when people criticise him.
9. When to post: The best time to post I find is the morning when people will be going through their subscriptions. I tend not to blog on weekends anymore because people seem to check their Webfeed/RSS reader during typical work hours on Monday to Friday. People will be able to give your post more attention.
10. Be controversial: Don’t be a sheep, stand out and voice your own opinion. Who cares if nobody agrees with you? As long as you believe in what you’re saying then don’t be afraid to disagree. people are always inclined to get two sides of a story. Mind you, don’t push it otherwise you’ll be seen as someone who just likes to brew trouble.
11. Blogging is not email: A blog might be an online journal, but that doesn’t mean you have to start each post with Dear Diary. The same applies for Hi, Hello World, etc. There’s no need to sign off either, your name will be listed at the bottom of your post anyway.
12. Assuming makes an ass out of u and me: Don’t assume readers are familiar with your product/service/pastime. I had to delete my subscription to a PR blog the other day because the author insists on referring to some model that I am completely unfamiliar with. I got the sense that he was trying to sell me something I wasn’t going to buy into.

Transfer photos and videos wirelessly
I have been using usb cables and card readers to transfer photos from my camera to my computer for a long time. Sometimes I encounter problems like misplacing the card reader or usb cable. Or I just don't have the time to transfer the photos and videos even though I wanted to share them to my friends and family. My camera becomes a photo storage album because my photos have been there for a long time. Also transferring the SD card from camera to card reader and back to the camera might damage the SD card.
Well, i have encountered an amazing product that can help solve my problems in an awesome way. The Eye-Fi card is the 1st wireless memory card that has the function of a regular SD/SDHC card and a built in Wi-Fi. I don't need to buy a new camera because my camera is SD card compatible and most cameras use SD cards.
I can transfer photos and videos effortlessly to my computer. Eye-Fi automatically back-up and organizes photos and videos in date-based folders. With 4Gb of memory, I can store up 2,000 photos or 90 minutes of video depending on my camera resolution settings.
I can now share photos and videos to sharing sites like Facebook and Flickr without even having my computer on. All i need is a wireless router and a SDHC capable camera which i both have already. I can also get notified also via email, text message or Twitter alert when I upload photos online.
This are just some of the benefits of having an Eye-Fi.

Snapshell ID Reader
SnapShell IDR is a driver license scanner system that extracts the full card image, face image, signature image and full text data of the ID Card. The Snapshell ID uses a 3 mega-pixel camera built into its base to "snap" high quality digital images of ID cards (up to 600 dpi), populating the card’s text into appropriate fields within 2-3 seconds, into an external file, clipboard or third party software.
The extracted image and data can be exported to any other application, email, FTP and the web. When using the automatic card placement detection, SnapShell IDR launches the ID scan job immediately upon placing the card on the SnapShell ID reader.
With an outstanding cards scanning and processing speed combined with a powerful OCR engine, SnapShell IDR is ideal for customer service offices, government agencies, bars & clubs, various businesses, and third party kiosk applications.
• Car Dealers and Car Rentals who need to get an id reader to copy the customer's driver licence as a part of the selling process.
• Bars & Clubs who need to identify the age of their customers.
• Liquor Stores who need to identify the age of their customers.
• Places who need to have an access and visitors control, like schools, clubs and many more.

How to change your blogger favicon
1. Design the icon and save it as png (ico is preferred, but it's harder to upload). The preferred resolution is 16x16, but i saved mine at 22x22 for greater quality, and it seems it works :) (i think 36x36 is the limit)
2. Upload the icon somewhere (photobucket, pages.google.com), and copy the link
3. Go to Edit HTML under the Template tab in your blog's dashboard
4. Find the follwowing line (Ctrl+f) :
5. Insert this code below it: (replace "URL of your icon file" with the link you've copied at step 2)
6. Save the template
In order to see the change, close your page, delete the temporary internet files from your browser and reopen your page

15 Tips to Increase Blog Traffic
Frequently updating your blog with useful content is the first step to building your blog’s audience. The content you write is what will keep readers coming back for more. Make sure you have something meaningful to say to them and say it often to maintain their interest and keep them loyal.
Furthermore, post frequently to increase the number of chances you have for your blog’s content to be noticed by search engines such as Google or Technorati.
Google ReaderUse Google’s web-based blog reader to keep up with blogs and news.reader.google.com
2. Submit Your Blog to Search Engines
Get on the radar screen for the popular search engines such as Google and Yahoo! by submitting your blog’s URL to them. Most search engines provide a ‘Submit’ link (or something similar) to notify the search engine of your new blog, so those search engines will crawl it and include your pages in their results.
It’s important to understand that simply submitting your blog to search engines doesn’t mean your pages will appear at the top of a Google search results screen, but at least your blog will be included and will have the chance of being picked up by a search engine.
3. Use and Update Your Blogroll
By adding links to sites you like in your blogroll, the owners of those blogs will find your blog and will be likely to add a reciprocal link in their blogrolls. It’s an easy way to get the link to your blog in front of many readers on other blogs. The hope is that some of those readers will click on the link to your blog on the other blogs’ blogrolls and find your content interesting and enjoyable turning them into loyal readers.
4. Harness the Power of Comments
Commenting is a simple and essential tool to increase your blog’s traffic. First, respond to comments left on your blog to show your readers that you value their opinions and draw them into a two-way conversation. This will increase reader loyalty.
Second, leave comments on other blogs to drive new traffic. Make sure you leave your blog’s URL in your comment, so you create a link back to your own blog. Many people will read the comments left on a blog post. If they read a particularly interesting comment, they are highly likely to click on the link to visit the commentor’s website. It’s important to make sure you leave meaningful comments that are likely to invite people to click on your link to read more.
5. Syndicate Your Blog’s Content with an RSS Feed
Setting up an RSS feed button on your blog makes it easy for your loyal readers to not just read your blog but also know when you publish new content.
6. Use Links and Trackbacks
Links are one of the most powerful parts of your blog. Not only are links noticed by search engines, but they also act as a tap on the shoulder to other bloggers who can easily identify who is linking to their sites. Linking helps to get you noticed by other bloggers who are likely to investigate the sites that are linking to them. This may lead them to become new readers of your blog or to add links to your blog from theirs.
You can take links to other blogs a step further by leaving a trackback on the other blog to let them know you’ve linked to them. Blogs that allow trackbacks will include a link back to your blog in the comments section of the post that you originally linked to. People do click on trackback links!
7. Tag Your Posts
It takes a few extra seconds to add tags to each of your blog posts, but it’s worth the time in terms of the additional traffic tags can drive to your blog. Tags (like links) are easily noticed by search engines. They’re also key to helping readers find your blog when they perform searches on popular blog search engines such as Technorati.
8. Submit Your Posts to Social Bookmarking Sites
Taking the time to submit your best posts to social bookmarking sites such as Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit and more can be a simple way to quickly boost traffic to your blog.
9. Remember Search Engine Optimization
When you write your blog posts and pages, remember to optimize your pages for search engines to find them. Include relevant keywords and links but don’t overload your posts with too many relevant keywords or completely irrelevant keywords. Doing so can be considered spamming and could have negative results such as your blog being removed from Google’s search entirely.
10. Don’t Forget Images
Images don’t just make your blog look pretty, they also help people find you in search engine listings. People often use the image search options offered by Google, Yahoo! and other search engines, and naming your images with search engine optimization in mind can easily boost your traffic.
11. Consider Guest Blogging
Guest blogging can be done when you write a guest post on another blogger’s blog or when another blogger writes a guest post on your blog. Both methods are likely to increase traffic as your blog will be exposed to the other blogger’s audience. Many of the other blogger’s readers will visit your blog to see what you have to say.
12. Join Forums, Web Rings or Online Groups
Find online forums, web rings, groups or social networking sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn where you can share ideas and ask questions of like-minded individuals. Add a link to your blog in your signature line or profile, so each time you post on a forum or participate in another online network, you’re indirectly promoting your blog. Chances are many people will click on that link to learn more about you.
13. Promote Outside Your Blog
Promoting your blog shouldn’t stop when you step outside the blogosphere. Add your blog’s URL to your email signature and business cards. Talk about it in offline conversations. It’s important to get your name and your blog’s URL noticed offline, too.
14. Nominate Yourself and Other Blogs for Blog Awards
There are a number of blog awards given out throughout the year. Nominating yourself and other blogs and bloggers can draw attention to your blog and drive traffic to it.
15. Don’t Be Shy
The most important part of the blogosphere is its community and much of your success as a blogger will be tied to your willingness to network with that community. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, join conversations or just say hi and introduce yourself. Don’t sit back and hope the online world will find you. Speak out and get yourself noticed. Let the blogosphere know you’ve arrived and have something to say!

Woman impaled by tree branch
The incident occurred as Childers rode in the front passenger seat during a drive with her husband in a remote area along the Lochsa River. The couple rounded a blind curve too fast and a stray branch struck Michelle and pierced her through the neck. The couple then had to drive over an hour to a lodge to get medial attention.
In this video by Washington TV station KHQ, Childers describes an "explosion" of green and a "strange" pressure on her neck and shoulder, along with her confusion at her husband's sudden alarm.

The water-resistance of this portable HDD allows it to stay underwater up to 1 meter depth for up to 30 minutes. The plastic and spongy looking case of this HDD also allows it to withstand drop but there is no clear indication how much shock it can absorb before messing up the data on it.
The A-data SH93 will come in a variety of sizes including 250GB, 320GB, 500GB and 640GB and it’s also available in a number of funky colors such as yellow and red. Unfortunately, the actual price and availability are still unknown.

Cafe World Tips and Tricks
Welcome to Cafe World!
Cafe World is an exciting game where you build and manage your very own restaurant! Be the head chef and discover new dishes to cook and serve, expand your restaurant and employ your friends, or visit neighbors to try out their latest creations and trade gifts to help each other succeed!
My Chef
You are Head Chef of your Restaurant and your character should reflect that! If you are unhappy with your appearance at any time, you can easily change it by clicking on the shirt icon from the lower left hand menu (in between your cookbook and the decoration buttons). This brings up the customization screen where you can easily modify skin color, facial features, hair and eyes as well as purchase new clothes and accessories with your hard earned Cafe Coins! You can also edit your character by clicking it in game.
Navigation
Moving around your restaurant is easy - Hovering over action items such as stoves or menu icons will provide a brief description of the item and its current state. Clicking on an interactive item such as a stove or counter brings up the action menu allowing you to choose what you'd like to do with it (for example, clicking an empty stove to begin cooking a dish or to serve a fully cooked dish).
Cooking
If a stove is empty you can begin a new dish by clicking on it. This opens up the Dish Menu where you can choose which dish you wish to cook. The cost of a dish is different depending on how long they take to fully cook and how many Cafe Coins you make from serving them. Dishes award experience every time you complete an ingredient step - be sure to complete all three to set your dish cooking!
Plan ahead by cooking dishes that will become ready to serve the next time you check back in on your Café. Moving your mouse/cursor over a fully prepped dish will display its current cook progress. This is shown as a green progress bar, with a percentage to completion on the left side of the bar.
Serving
Dishes take anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 days to become fully cooked and ready to serve. A fully cooked dish is easy to spot - it sparkles on the stove to signify it's ready. Click on the finished dish to have your Chef begin serving it - but be sure to have enough room! Cooking additional servings of dishes that you are already serving will add them to the same counter space, however, cooking a new dish requires an empty counter to serve it on. Your variety in dishes is limited by the number of counters you have in your restaurant, the more counters you have, the wider variety of dishes you can serve!
Deleting Dishes
If you run out of counter space to serve a new dish you have the option of deleting an in-progress dish from the stove or deleting a dish from a counter. You can delete dishes by clicking on an in progress dish on your stove or counter and selecting Yes from the Delete Dish confirmation pop-up. Careful! Once a dish is deleted it cannot be returned.
Spoiled Dishes
Care should be taken not to leave fully cooked dishes on the stove for too long! Dishes will start to spoil if they sit around. Spoiled dishes are useless and must be thrown out before you can begin a new dish.
Leveling Up and Earning Café Points
Actions like adding ingredients, serving, and helping friends award 'Cafe Points'. As these points accumulate your level increases, unlocking new recipes, gifts , employees, counters, and stoves!
Decorating
Clicking the Customize Icon (the chair icon in the menu) activates decoration mode. While in decoration mode you can purchase a variety of items to place and move around your Cafe. To purchase an item click, hold and drag it into your café, then let go. You can also move items around your café in this manner.
Decor

Purchasing
Purchasing items is as easy as left-clicking and dragging the item to the appropriate place in your cafe. Be absolutely sure you like what you're placing before letting go of it in your restaurant because as soon as you let go of the left mouse button, that item is purchased! If you change your mind, you can click-drag the item back into your inventory, or drag it over the register to sell it back for a reduced price. Selling
Selling items is as easy as purchasing them! You can sell items directly from your cafe by left-clicking and dragging them out of the cafe and hovering over the cash register on the right side of your inventory. Letting go of the left mouse button sells the item. You can sell any extra inventory items in the same way, just click and drag it from your inventory to the register.
Rotating
Any purchased object in your cafe you can easily be rotated by left clicking it- a large yellow circular arrow will appear above the object. Clicking the circular arrows will rotate the object, keep clicking until it is positioned to your liking. Click on any other object within your inventory to deselect the rotated object.
Functional
This category holds all the counters and stoves you can use in your cafe! As you reach new levels the limited number of counters and stoves you can place in your cafe increases. Check back often to make sure you haven't missed out on placing a new stove or the ability to serve another dish!

This section allows you to purchase larger cafe floor plans. With more room to expand your cafe you can serve more customers, create some real style and maximize your kitchen! Most expansions are limited by the number of neighbors you have so be sure to invite them to play Cafe World with you.

How to maintain Buzz Rating?
- If your counters are already empty then your Buzz Rating will surely drop so the best way to maintain it is by closing your cafe. Just remove your cafe door so stop customers from coming. You can cook all you want without worrying about your Buzz Rating. When your dish is done then open your store again by putting back the door.

Pepeng spares Metro Manila
MANILA - The state weather bureau lifted the public storm warning signal placed over Metro Manila as typhoon Pepeng (international codename Parma) moved towards the northernmost part of Luzon.
Weather bureau PAGASA said the typhoon was 260 kilometers southeast of Aparri town, Cagayan province with slight weaker winds of 175 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 210 kph.
It has accelerated from 13 kph to 17 kph, moving northwest, PAGASA added.
PAGASA said Pepeng was expected to make landfall over the northern part of Cagayan province on Saturday night and move near Basco, Batanes by Sunday morning.
The typhoon was initially predicted to make a landfall over Aurora and Isabela areas on Saturday afternoon as a supertyphoon, but it changed course after a high pressure area developed near Hong Kong.
PAGASA said the high pressure area may also prevent Pepeng from making landfall in the Philippines.
Nathaniel Cruz, PAGASA's spokesman, said Pepeng's changing of course is "good news" as it removes the threat to flooded areas in Metro Manila and its outskirts.
"The threat of typhoon Pepeng to us has eased," Cruz said in a radio interview. "That is good news."
More than 400,000 people remained in evacuation centers in areas hit by floods caused by tropical storm Ondoy's heavy rains in the capital region.
Cruz, meanwhile, said people in disaster zones in the capital should still take precautionary measures as Pepeng was expected to bring more rains throughout the day, but assured that it would not be as heavy as rains dumped by Ondoy.
Areas placed under Storm Signal No. 3 were Cagayan, Babuyan Island, Calayan Island and northern Isabela. Signal No. 2 remained hoisted over the Batanes group of islands, Apayao, Kalinga, Ilocos Norte, Abra, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, the rest of Isabela, northern Aurora, Polilio Island and Catanduanes.
Metro Manila has been lifted from the list of areas placed under Storm Signal No. 1. Areas still under the storm signal were Ilocos Sur, Benguet, La Union, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, rest of Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Albay.
Preemptive evacuation
President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on Friday placed the country under a state of calamity as she ordered preemptive evacuations in areas expected to be hit by the typhoon.
The National Disaster Coordinating Council reported Saturday morning that thousdands of people living in critical areas in La Union, Cagayan, Isabela, Batanes, Quirino provinces have been evacuated.
More than 20,000 families or more than 100,000 people have also been evacuated in Bicol and a few hundred more were brought to evacuation centers in the Calabarzon area.
The government has also announced the allotment of a P100 million calamity fund for the continuing relief efforts for the victims of tropical storm Ondoy, which entered the country last week and left nearly 300 people dead and 42 more missing. With Agence France-Presse
