Logging Spider

Another spider, today is spider day! It's a Plustech Oy / John Deere hexapod logging machine prototype. It looks amazing! Plustech Oy Walking Machine(it seems to down) has strong six-legged, it features to make a logging machine that does less damage to the forest and can move through more challenging terrain than wheeled or tracked logging machines. Depending on the terrain, the ground pressure can be adjusted by changing the machine's six shoes, according to Plustech Oy. When the machine confronts obstacles, it simply steps over them. Check out see the video of walking Logging Spider(it really likes a spider).

Surf chair workstation

As of yet, I am able to sit upright, facing my monitor, for many hours at a stretch in a day and also maintain a healthy back. But since my passion and job involves surfing internet, I need to focus on getting an ergonomically designed work station that will keep all the posture related probs at bay. Theoretically, on the mention of the Surf Chair, your mind with drift to relaxing lazing chairs on the promenades and beach fronts. But in a geek’s dictionary, it’s not the same. A true geek can immediately conjure up an image of a chair used to surf the net at ease. Like the one designed by Kenneth Lylover! Intended for the ‘Internet Collection’ competition at the Scandinavian Furniture Fair, this rocking chair also managed to bag the price of Winner of “Best Product” there. This chair seems to be very comfortable, as you can see from this picture that it is fitted with numerous pillows to support every part of body. Also the monitor is smartly suspended in front of the user by this one piece work station. However the keyboard and mouse are supposed to be placed as usual on the users lap. Wonder why some kinda folding tray isn’t fitted in this otherwise uber cool workstation? Though we managed to bring to you array of smart and elegant workstations some time ago, this Surf Chair seems to be much more simpler and straight-thinking then all of ’em.

Folding Laptop

While laptops are meant to be portable, those 19.5" monsters will definitely make it a chore to lug around - but not if you can help it with this folding laptop. A quick search on eBay unearthed this gem of a Xentex-brand prototype laptop that features a hinge right down the middle, enabling it to be folded right in half. This won't change its weight in any way, while the laptop ends up twice as thick, but at least it makes it all the more manageable to tote around. A hinge splits the laptop's display into a couple of 13.3" panels, and each of them can be rotated independently, allowing two people to watch the display from either side of the table although only one person will be able to have full control of the keyboard. It comes with a built-in floppy drive, but lacks an optical drive. Other specifications include an 850MHz Athlon processor and over 128MB of RAM. It is currently going for $100, making it a great conversation starter if you plan on turning your home into a tech museum.

Cool 920 Dual Sim Phone

We’ve seen a few dual-SIM phones but nothing like the Cool 920, found at Totobay (the World’s number one China mobile phone supplier). When folded, the phone is shiny and impressive, made more impressive with that extra layer of steel. It’s not only in the exterior where the 920 impresses: its a dual-SIM sual-Blootooth phone. What do these things mean exactly? I’ll let the manufacturer explain how the dual SIM, “dual” Bluetooth works.

Cool 920 has super business function of dual cards dual standby and dual bluetooths, the main features of bluetooth is useful for you business, you can use it to call, listening music and data transfer easily. And the bluetooth headset is not only supports the master SIM card calls but also the slave SIM card. Without switching the phone off, it allows for you to use 2 different sim cards to standby, but only one call can be received each time.

The less impressve features of the Cool 920 is as follows: GSM 900 / 1800 MHz phone, 2 megapixel camera, GPRS and WAP support, TF card expansion, 3GP/ MP4 video and supports network video (see the antenna after the break) and also plays two “common” games.

iPhone Meets Treo

There is soon to be a flood of new mobile phones to hit the street using Google’s new open source Android OS platform. RKS design consultants of southern California have just introduced their entry into this soon-to-be-ubiquitous mobile platform with this “Mimique” design. Touting its ability to be easily customizable, and looking very much like a Treo with an iPhone touch surface, this phone concept deserves some attention, but I can’t help feel that they really failed to find a unique aspect. What do you think?

USB Screwless 3.5-inch HDD Enclosure

The USB Screwless 3.5" HDD Enclosure (USB + eSATA) is something everyone should own I believe - after all, carrying around another few hundred GB of storage space is always a good thing as you never know just what you might want to store there and then. Featuring a quick release function, it takes a mere 10 seconds to exchange a 3.5" hard drive with another without any screwing involved. It comes with a powerful cooling fan that helps prevent overheating, although I would recommend you clean it out once in a while since dust is one of a hard drive's greatest enemies. It will retail for $59 from Brando, but don't expect free shipping with this as that will set you back by another $25.
